Macon-Hall Elementary PTA

Shelby County Schools will sponsor the KIDS KAN Food Drive February 14 - 18, 2011. Canned goods collected by students and staff will be given to The Food Bank. Serving more than 300 charitable feeding programs in west Tennessee, north Mississippi and east Arkansas, the Food Bank fights hunger by efficiently collecting and distributing wholesome food, while educating the community about the problem of hunger and advocating on behalf of hungry people.

What a wonderful opportunity to teach young people their responsibility to feed the hungry and contribute to the community welfare.

A pizza party and various other prizes will be awarded to to the classrooms (K-5) that collect the most cans during the week.

The most needed food items are:

Money to purchase wholesome food
Canned meats, including tuna, stews, chicken and dumplings, chili, Spam, soups
