Macon-Hall Elementary PTA

This October 9th will kick off Macon-Hall's 2008 Read-A-Thon. This year our theme will be "Reading Is Key". The Read-A-Thon will end on Wednesday, October 15th.
There will be two dress up days:
October 9th is Macon Hall Spirit Day. Wear your favorite Macon Hall t-shirt or Macon Hall colors (dark green, black & white).
October 10th is Patriotic Day. Wear red, white and blue to commemorate (a little early) Columbus Day!.
Dress code applies! Dress comfortably as this will be worn all day.
Prizes are awarded based upon dollars raised!
The Top Reader and Top Money Raiser for the entire school will win a "Tiger Pack" including an autographed basketball, Memphis Tiger t-shirts and a pair of tickets to the University of Memphis v. Christian Brothers University basketball game on November 4th.
Deadline to submit minutes and money is Friday, October 17 to be eligible for the Grand Prize. Minutes and money submitted after this date will count toward the cumulative prizes only.
This is the PTA's main donation drive for the school year. This important event raises funds for programs such as "Arts in the School", "The Accelerated Reading Program" for books, and test to encourage reading throughout the entire school year. It also provides much needed supplies such as projectors, computers, library supplies, P.E. equipment, musical instruments & props, flags, World Book encyclopedias and much, much more! The funds support our Reflections Contest, Citizenship Contest, our Health Room, School Beautification for our Environmental Program, Mardi Gras Festival and Hospitality needs for our PTA General Meetings.
Complete rules were sent home with each child.

We will also need assistance in organizing, gathering and issuing prizes for our students as incentives. We would like everyone to help getting the word out in the community and are looking for contacts with the local newspapers, T.V. & Radio stations.
