Red Ribbon Week

The goal of Red Ribbon Week is to present a unified and visible commitment toward the creation of a Drug Free America. The red ribbon symbolizes a commitment to a healthy, drug free lifestyle. Macon-Hall will be celebrating Red Ribbon Week with special activities each day.

Parents, please write a card or letter to your child to tell him/her how much he/she is loved and how special he/she is. Encourage your child to always take a stand against things that are wrong. Choose a time during the week to give your child this letter. This note will be a meaningful reminder of your love and your belief in your child.

Monday: Red Ribbon Kickoff. CAMPAIGN AGAINST DRUGS! During regular scheduled guidance the children will design a campaign poster with a drug free message. These will be turned into the School Counselors to be displayed around the building.
Tuesday: Red Ribbon Day. Every student will be given a red ribbon to wear or tie on their backpack.
Wednesday: I ELECT TO BE DRUG FREE. Children will receive a pledge card: Vote Against Drugs to sign and keep. Kindergarten and First Grade students will have a special presentation in the library by Sgt. Brian Goode: Hangin' with the Home Beez
Thursday: Wear Red, White AND Blue Day. To make a visible statement, we encourage all administrators, teachers, students and staff to wear red, white and blue
Friday: Wear RED Day. The Ron Cole Show for grades 2-5 in the gym (assembly) at 9:30. Ron Cole is nationally known for his enteraining show, captivating audiences with drug free messages incorporating music and comedy.
